Default Is it possible to Hench Riverside

Hi,

Hoping you can help me / give advice on this one. There may be an existing thread for this but I cant spare the time to search. (for some reason my work doesnt appreciate me spending my whole day on guru....cant think why )

Is it possible to hench Riverside? I've brought my canthan necro over and am getting fed up with groups that just die at the FIRST tower. I'm thinking i may be better off going on my own with hench.

Has anyone done this and got any tips they can give.

regards

I always thought that mission was based off of stealth =/
I'm guessing you shouldn't attack the towers? I havn't played that mission in a long time, but I know you can do it with henchmen.

I know I beat that mission with henchmen.

You can beat Prophecies with henchmen, so yes, you can beat Riverside.

You need to attack all the towers for the bonus.

Stealth is the easy and normal way to do the mission.

You don't have to kill anything at all in this mission, but it's very possible to do the bonus with henchmen if you have the patience (they have a hard time getting the tower rangers).

As stated before, you should use stealth to get past the towers.
Learn the movement patterns and you should be fine.
There are only a few mantle you have to fight.

When going for bonus, take archer and ele hench with you and make sure to pull all mantle guards away from the tower (the archer on top has a large shooting range).
The archer on top uses antidote signet, so make sure you degen with hexes and not poison (or interrupt the signet).

you are right, stealth is the key, however i think I've been unlucky in the way that all the groups I've teamed up with have the mentalilty of "red name must kill"

thanks for the info guys, will try tonight

If you need to I still think there is that glitch due to it most runners can run the ENTIRE mission in 5mins... hit me with a PM ( Eternal Is Sektor ) ... i miss running stuff (thank you damn factions) so ill run you for free.. most poeple charge around 600gold so its not much... they don't run bonus BTW just mission itself... it is probably the easiest shortest mission to run.

I've henched Riverside with all my characters and completed the bonus each time too. You just have to be patient and try to pull one group at a time. Once you clear the area around each tower, go for the watchman and seeker. The seeker is easier to kill so if you are a necro, you can give the watchman a little "playmate". Otherwise, ranged attacks and spells FTW. Always bring a bow. Most groups are too impatient to tackle the bonus since this makes for a LONG mission. Otherwise its pretty standard GW stuff.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't you have to kill that ranger boss at the end? He blocks the path, so if you can move around him, then yes, you don't have to kill anything to beat the mission.

Yes, you can move around him and trigger the cutscene.

No, you do not have to kill the boss at the end. I once ended the mission accidentally while I was mapping Riverside for Cartographer, because I ran a little too far.

Henching the bonus is considerably easier with either a warrior or any character that has aoe damage that doesn't require line-of-sight. The warrior is included above because, as it mentions in the wiki, you can actually hit the rangers from the bottom of the tower, provided you are 'next' to them. No z-axis ftw. Remember to bring a longbow for pulling.

If you're not interested in bonus, Riverside becomes a trivial mission because you don't actually have to fight anyone.

What he said x 2.

Here's proof:

Any class can handle it, really. Rangers will have the biggest trouble, in my opinion, since the line of sight is glitchy on the towers. Sometimes you'll be 'obstructed', sometimes not, even from the same place. It can be aggravating.

I used minions and some death magic to complete this. Consume Corpse is handy healing and energy maintainence; just make sure you don't teleport on top of a tower, haha.

Bonus can easily be henched if you have ALOT of time on your hands.

You have to Alert the tower and make everything run to it, then pick them off a few at a time by pulling them and running (Henchies dont understand pulls, so you have to break their aggro).

Also, this is WAY easier if you don't need Line of Sight...Warriors are so-so because the Guard CAN spawn far enough back where you cant melee him from down there. This is because the Henchies could never take down the Tower Guard on their own...They dont understand that you cant hit him in you dont have Line of Sight...so most of them just stand there. I did it on a ranger (needs line of sight) and it was HELL killing the tower guard...

If you want the bonus, make sure you have alot of ranged skills for the rangers up on the tower, bows might not work since it will most likely be obstructed.

Its funny. Flatbows are the best.

Most are obstructed, but funny enough with a Flatbow you can find spots that the arc of the bow lets your arrow hit. Sometimes it'll be obstructed half the time and hit half of the time.
